Bamboowiki is a project that aims to catalog a large amount of information about bamboo in general through personal experiences. If you want to ask questions about bamboo, please visit Bamboocraft.net, as they have a very active forum. If you have experience growing this amazing plant, please feel free to contribue.

The Spring of 2009 is here and the bamboo is starting to shoot. This year we see our 4th year bamboo reach record heights. I believe I will have to remove several culms from places that I do not want them. The 4th year Phyllostachys aureosulcata (yellow groove) is also trying to invade the 3rd year Nuda. The Nuda is set to explode as well, so we will see what happens. The Planting 14 Phyllostachys Vivax had a good year, but the Winter tore into it pretty good. The person I got it from said it had no problem in the Winter.
