Seeds
The seeds are very small, somewhat remind you of common grass seeds. They are less than 1/2 the size of Moso Seeds.
Growing From Seeds
Clint grew his from seeds. He order 200 seeds from [[1]] for only $9.90. He planted his May of 2006, and as of April, 2007 the tallest was 36" tall.

A nice observation of my remaining 5 plantings still in pots is that two of them have sprouted very sized up rhyzomes this year. With the plants spending a bunch of time outside this summer, it will be interesting to see how they take to coming back inside the house.
I have 2 planted outside in the back yard, and 2 of them planted in my mothers yard. 2 of the largest pots are destined to become dedicated house plants, hopefully reaching an almost mature height.

All of my plants were put under 3 - 40 watt florescent plant light bulbs starting December 25th, 2007. They will remain there until the freezing temps break. All outside plants killed over this winter, yet I am almost sure they will shoot again, as any rhizomes I have observed are still bright green.
The plants are doing well in the light, getting new leaf growth. They are a little strung out, and are not happen when I let them dry out. The soil must be kept dry no longer than 36 hours.

Information from Banana Tree
Banana Tree Says this about heteroclada:
This very popular hardy bamboo is used for screens and groves. A vigorous grower to 35' developing stems that are 1" thick. At maturity it will have very dark gray-green culms. It is called Water Bamboo because it has air canals in the rhizomes and roots which allow it to grow in wet soils where other bamboos would suffer. It may be grown in zones 6B through 10.
Their Growing Instructions:
Plant at a depth of 1/2" using well draining soil mixture. Keep lightly moist and provide bright light. Fertilize monthly.
